Rotomaster History

Turbocharger And Component Specialist Since 1978

1978

Since day one, the people of Rotomaster have lived and breathed turbochargers. Beginning as ADP Distributors in 1978 as an authorized distributor and remanufacturer of Garrett Turbochargers, the Vancouver-based company grew over the decades. It first served the heavy-duty aftermarket with precision-built O.E. turbochargers and later introduced a successful line of engine and fuel injection products.

Late 1990’s

As OEM support for the aftermarket dropped in the late 90’s, the founders of ADP Distributors saw an opportunity to fill a growing supply void. With 20 years of remanufacturing and reverse engineering experience under its belt, the company began to design, manufacture and sell brand new turbochargers with great success. It started with discontinued part numbers the OEMs had stopped producing and grew from there, eventually expanding its footprint into Europe.

Early 2000’s

Eager to grow upon its success and venture beyond the heavy-duty market, the company re-invented itself and relaunched in 2002 as the official manufacturer of Rotomaster Turbochargers, Components and Service Kits. Now, the aftermarket not only had access to affordable, O.E. quality turbochargers - it also had access to components, cartridges and service kits, empowering experienced technicians to rebuild their own turbos at the fraction of the cost. Throughout the early 2000’s, Rotomaster’s primary focus was to perfect its manufacturing process and supply-chain. It expanded its operations in Canada, the United States and Europe and pioneered two joint ventures in China – all while securing ISO 9001 certification for each facility.

Early 2010’s

In 2010, Rotomaster partnered with a major European OE brand to enter the European passenger car market. A few years later, the company branched into the powersports market, and by 2015, Rotomaster Turbochargers could also be found in the North American passenger car and light-duty truck market. Now on a roll, Rotomaster was looking for the next step on its growth trajectory. While it possessed top-notch engineering, manufacturing and product testing expertise, the company recognized its need for a scalable distribution system to accommodate the growing demand for its products.

2017

Rotomaster’s thriving culture of innovation caught the attention of CARDONE Industries, a leading replacement parts manufacturer in the automotive aftermarket. CARDONE was entering the turbocharger market and wanted to partner with a clear market leader to ramp up quickly. In November of 2017, CARDONE purchased the controlling interest in ADP Distributors, and its subsidiary, Rotomaster.

TODAY

Today, Rotomaster and CARDONE have successfully melded their companies and established themselves as the turbocharger coverage and quality leader, offering the widest selection of new and remanufactured products for most makes and models of light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles. With an exciting new technology patent under its belt, Rotomaster also serves the power sports market as a Tier One supplier. Whether it be OES or aftermarket, passenger vehicle, ATV or heavy-duty, Rotomaster is well positioned to become the most trusted suppler of turbochargers in North America.
